Asking for your opinions please on this type 1 Half Dollar. Is this just toning or are these carbon spots that will be detrimental to this this half. Thankyou in advance! It is already NGC slabbed at PR65.

Those black spots don't look like toning to me . I can see your concern . Were they there before or after it was slabbed ?

Personally I would avoid a slabbed coin with carbon spots like that. They will only get worse with time.

I am in agreement that the issue could get worse. I'd avoid it unless you're able to get a steep discount.
