Ok so I've struck out Everytime thinking I'm seeing double. Ive only got 2 Buffalo nickels..I've read and studied so many of my coins that I think that's what is causing me to see double..this hobby is challenging and I used to like challenges.but I don't understand what a doubled die an a Machine Doubling..they look the same to me..

Maybe purchase a doubled die so you can study it. Looking at mint state examples helps as well until you see the difference. Finally, its about the size of the devices. Compared to a normal MS device, the doubling will make it bigger, and a MD will lower the edges, making it look smaller.

Looks like an everyday worn Buffalo to me. Not seeing doubling of any kind.

Don't get frustrated, just keep picking up knowledge as you go. I regularly use the NGC VarietyPlus photos as reference: https://www.NGCcoin.com/variety-plu...1938/?page=1

DDOs & DDRs are tough to find, you have to kiss a lot of frogs first. Best bet is to pick up some rolls, small bulk lots, in time you'll find one. Much easier to find are RPM's, some two feather varieties. You can also spend some time cherry-picking on ebay using auction photos for more of a rifle approach.
