I read the definition of the woody, so I'm assuming the improper alloy mixture can happen on newer pennies, just haven't seen an example from the '80s or newer
Images area bit washed out, but I agree with the roller lines assessment. Some go away over time, others will persist, especially if the coin is removed from circulation.
They are surface on the coin. They will wear off in time. They appear after the BU look goes away. Unlike Woody coins, the don't wear off the coin as they are all the way through the planchet. On the rolling lines, they are just surface. Nothing to do with the mixture of the metal in the stock material. Woodys are the result of a poor mixture of the stock metals.
