I'm a little surprised that circulation wear and then the buffing wheel would remove that much weight, but that doesn't look like a mint error to me. Drag4566 Valued Member United States 52 Posts	Posted 02/21/2022 4:21 pm if this penny is polished and buffed wouldn't the numbers letters be completely off. is it possible it is a thin planchet. there is such an error. of split planchet. pics dont do this coin justice. I have an open mind. when you buff something that much the design would be almost worn to none existence. Report this Post to the Staff

If this were a thin planchet, there would be a lot of missing detail as the design would not have been able to be fully struck up on a planchet this thin. Report this Post to the Staff
