This is the latest find out of my weekly box of halves and I can't seem to nail it down without any die markers. What do you guys think?

And no die gouge.

Note the spread is no strong looking on the devices, but when you see them side by side, then you know this is a doubled die. Also note, no need to look at the outside and inside edges of the devices. Spread in the center of the devices. Let me repeat that: Spread in the center of the devices. So if you are searching for the outside/inside edges for a doubled die, remember, that is where you will find Machine Doubling or die wear. (stop looking there)

Here is a side by side with a normal coin:

Here is a side by side of the device with a different look on the same/normal/polished/machine doubling.

Wow! Great find and in great shape to boot! Congrats! I see the X die marker, die scratches, above the A in dollar I believe, slightly higher and to right of the left star above A.

You asked if your 73D DDO-001 could be an Early or Late Die State. It is difficult to tell without seeing the coin in hand. Attached are photos (eye, under the nose, and E of LIBERTY) of the Stage B (MDS) and Stage C (LDS) from my collection for your comparison. Maybe this will help.

Looking at the devices on your coin it is starting to enter into the LDS die state. Looks like two polishing steps have happened, and the devices are thinning.
