Preemptive apology on my pics as this dime looks pretty nice in person. It has golden toning on both sides that doesn't show up to well in my pictures. Curious as to the reverse. The areas in question on the reverse are in the fields between the olive branch, torch and oak branch. Also the 'I' in America (trail die?) Lastly, maybe a die chip in FDR's hair at around 1:30 near the part in his hair. Would this be caused by over polishing of a die? Read a post yesterday Coop mentioned PIDT. Thanks for any help.

That is a clash, only one listed and yours is different. This is nothing like a trail die but will include that link too, so you can study what they are and what they look like. Cool find though!

Listed 2007 clash. http://www.maddieclashes.com/adc-10c-2007-01/

This may actually be mostly PIDT, after looking at it again but think there is clashing too, definitely no trail though.

It is a MAD coin, not too sure if it is a full collar clash because of the angle of the image (looking down from above and further north showing the reeded edge more on the North as reference to the south edge. I would like to see the top edge of the coin better maybe a bit closer.

Hope this isn't too many pictures but maybe they will help. And also noticed it looks strange to the North of 'M' in DIME. Thanks.

With every new, better pic, I'm thinking differently. This looks more like a Struck Through Grease.

By no means am I questioning you Makes but if it was struck thru grease wouldn't that alter say the edges of the leaves as well? Looking thru my loupe they seem to be well defined. I have no idea, hence my screen name lol.

The fields are the most affected by a Grease Filled Die, especially when it's just grease, not gritty grease. Let's see what better folks say, I'm a novice at best.

Like the name, by the way.

I found 4 same date half dollars in a roll that al had a mark that looked like this in front of JFK's effigy. The affected "spot" got smaller with each one. Mine was a Struck Through Grease error in the fields.

Or oil/water/grease with grit mixed into it. (kind of a mechanical soup on the fields)
