coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/13/2022 12:45 pm If it were missing the cladding, then there would be weakness of strike and the coin will be under weight. Weight you coin to see if it is normal or lower than normal. If normal it was a metal detector find. When put back into circulation, the clad color will some back to the normal color first on the highest devices. The color will also probably turn black. in color: If it were really a missing cladding, it would be red in color, not brown. So check the weight first. To see if it is normal or under weight?
