@blank, I believe that the doubling on the incuse inscriptions on these quarters is actually all Machine Doubling.

That was an interesting read, thanks Spence, and Coop for putting that together if you stumble into this post. I'm guessing I should move past these when I see them.

Note on the last image: See the striation lines on these devices. They are all caused by Machine Doubling. Caused by a loose machine. There are no DDR's on this area. They are all on the central devices, not on this area. 70% of 100 coins showed slight to extreme MD on them. So they are easy to find on these quarters on the incuse devices.
