I honestly think this coin would be pretty spectacular if this had actually fallen off, but pretty nifty as is. Shows things quite well as to what's going on with the lamination even though it's still attached, just can't see all those attractive grain marks underneath.

Excellent error.

Are you going to store it with the paper highlighting the retained lamination? It sure makes the error obvious.

Thanks for all the kind words! And yes, I have put it in a 50 cent holder with paper in it since that just really shows what's going on so well. It looks great as-is under magnification or in a high quality photo, but it just seemed like using the paper shows it off to the naked eye rather dramatically.

Finding things is a matter of time and material. I haven't had a great deal of time lately, but I got in a great deal of material over the last month or so and did a coin run last Tuesday that netted something along the lines of 35,000 coins almost all Lincolns. After quantity of coins, comes quality of coins. One collection I bought off a CCF member was all varieties and a few errors, so that was just one after another of fun stuff but only posted a couple of those since time was better spent verifying and filing those. But now just going through random estate lots and whatnot I tend to post more as it does give a break from just sitting and searching, and I start with the best stuff so always find more right after a big buy than at the tail end of going through stuff.
