If the hammering is done with the cent between two pieces of leather then the details seem to be well-preserved. @bobby do you have a way of confirming that the thickness is reduced? I can see flattening on the upper cheek area. Between 7:00-8:00 area the rim looks distorted. Not a mint error, but an altered coin. First time I seen a squeezed copper cent before.
