My vote is for this being a Texas Cent. If the hammering is done with the cent between two pieces of leather then the details seem to be well-preserved. @bobby do you have a way of confirming that the thickness is reduced?

Your right John1, never even looked at the date. Most Texas Cents are zincoins.

Probably squeezed in a vise with wood or leather belt (or both) material. I can see flattening on the upper cheek area. Between 7:00-8:00 area the rim looks distorted. Not a mint error, but an altered coin. First time I seen a squeezed copper cent before.

Ya I've never seen a copper Texas Cent before either. I would think you would have to apply a lot more pressure than a zinc coin.
