Quote: If you're going to do fractional, why not adjust the denomination accordingly. I mean ... once you make changes, it's no longer fractional (scaled) ...

My son's first birthday is coming up next month. I want to get him a 2023 Peace dollar to store away to give to him when he turns 18. I see I can either just wait for the day these go on sale or can do a "subscription." Does a "subscription" guarantee I will get one? Any disadvantage to doing the subscription? I got my daughter the 2021 Peace dollar for her first birthday so this is a tradition I want to keep for my son as well. I remember with the 2021s, I missed out initially but when the mint had them back in stock I was able to get it. I don't want to go through the same stress with these. Thanks!

I rely on the subscriptions the mint offers. If you are able to get a subscription, I suggest you get it quick. I have not missed anything I have subscribed to yet. So, Yes, I think you will be guaranteed to get at least one. I was enrolled to get 3 of each, but decided differently and scaled back to just one of each.

I agree just get the subscription. You can always cancel it after you get the one this year. The best part is you don't have to worry about the mint website on the day of release. It seems like this release will be better than the last few. Unfortunately, better than the last few would equal pony express.

Coincollector123, Great follow up information. I have Always been a Fan of the UNCIRCULATED Versions of the MORGANS and Peace dollars, They are SOLD OUT !!!! Wow, Who would of thought 175.000 Sold out Before the release date. I believe I have read, the U S ,Mint put aside 10% of the Total mintage(s), for the Release date, I could be wrong... Eagle, Don't be shy, tell us how you Really feel about the Fractional, I like the idea, Just not for me.... PS, I also see the Mint's advice about the FIJI Copies, using their pictures Too.....

I believe I have read, the U S ,Mint put aside 10% of the Total mintage(s), for the Release date, I could be wrong.. The mintage for the uncirculated is 275,000 so even if you missed the chance to subscribe for one, you can still fight for one of the 27k (I think they did put aside 10% for release day). I am surprised its out of stock as well. Quote: I see I can either just wait for the day these go on sale or can do a "subscription." Does a "subscription" guarantee I will get one? Any disadvantage to doing the subscription? I would always do a subscription if it was an option. It is much better to get the pre-order than wait for day of release. Only disadvantage is if you forget to update your payment information or forget to take your subscription off and you get a notification next year that a coin is coming to you. I am glad they went to a subscription base for these coins. I used to take off a day of work for highly sought after coins as the website is GUARANTEED to crash and you will be waiting for 30-40 min to try to get a low mintage coin. ALSO looks like the Rev Proof Morgan/Peace is OOS for subscription.

On the way to ebay to look at presales... Uncirculated Morgan- 2 Presales $150 and $190. Currently on ebay for $150 Uncirculated Peace - 1 presale at $150. Currently on sale for $150 Proof- No information Rev Proof Set- 1 presale at $450 Best Offer accepted. None for sale I am surprised they are going for 2x price for the uncirculated ones. They have been up for presale for a REALLY LONG time (July 2022). Everyone had a chance to get what they wanted.

I agree. If you know you are going to buy it, the subscription is the best way to ensure success.

I must have been on the wrong page as it looks like proof is the only one available for subscription. I'd prefer uncirculated but I'd rather him get a proof than nothing. Thanks all for the info!

At the moment, Proofs are the only ones left. I have the 2021 morgan/peace so I didnt feel that would add much to my collection. So I only went with the proofs and RP

Great Point John, The " Wild " U S Mint Product Release Adventures , @ High Noon, I am sure there are Stories...... Having the Subscriptions Secured are a Double Edged Sword, IMO, On the First hand Securing the Coin the day o0f the release is a Palm Sweating, Hair Raising Adventure, Ask Any seasoned Collector. BUT being the subscription brings a Strong sense of Mintage Numbers, VS Availability, = " A Collectible " ? I am Not going to pretend, Getting a Coin , on Release Date gave a Strong sense of Accomplishment, Now, The Strong sense is How many did they Actually Make, VS Rarity...........

Quote: On the First hand Securing the Coin the day o0f the release is a Palm Sweating, Hair Raising Adventure, Ask Any seasoned Collector Agreed. I always like the thrill of securing the goods. The amount of training that was put into clicking the boat this community has done, is insane. The only way a subscription works is if they make enough to handle the predicted demand. Now the actual demand is given by buyers. In this case, I would probably say the mintage is too high on the 2023 and they should have dropped it 50-100k per set. Or, another neat idea would be put out a pre-order and say that its printed to demand for 2 months and on day of release they will make an additional 10%

The THRILL is More than a Thrill, It's Amazingly Refreshing Accomplishment, !!!! I Agree about the " mintages " being, IMO, Too high ( the 2023's ), Compared to the 2021 Stars that are holding about Double their Originally purchased Payed prices. I like Your idea about the Coins Pre-Orders in a Certain time frame BEFORE the Release dates.... , They actually do a "pre order " now, SUBSCRIPTIONS, Previously ENROLLMENTS....
