Shame its the same finish as the 2021 versions but I am glad for those that didnt get into the coins then, now have an opportunity to get into the series with these new ones and MSRP. This should have come out last year. Its a shame that FIJI made proof Morgan and Peace dollars already. They beat the US Mint at their own game and even made them scarce at 3500 of each type (Morgan S,D,O,CC/Peace D,S). Fiji also made reverse proofs (same mint marks/mintage) in 2022. |

I wasn't really talking about prices of the Fiji coins as its more of an obscure coin that only came around because the US mint didnt make 2022 Morgan and Peace. I like how Fiji did the coins, I just dont see why I would pay a HUGE premium to own one. |

coincollector123, I did Not know FIJI mint made 2022 MORGANS and Peace dollars. I knew they made the Reverse Proofs, at 3500 Sets for " under $300.00 ", per coin, The 6 coin Set, $1,799.99... While I Really Like the UNCIRCULATED Finish coins, THIS Years PROOFS should Do More than Just Make History...... To hold A Proof Morgan silver dollar, WOW..... Also the history of these are not 'fantastic'. Long story short, Mike Muzak knew that the U.S. mint could not make these coins in 2022. This was due to lack of silver. He went to Fiji and had these so called dollars made in reverse proof. He constantly states that our mint can not make these that these will be better than the sets coming out in 2023. He bought every coin so you don't see them anywhere. P.C.G.S. refused to grade them. N.G.C a few. A.N.A.C.S. graded them all. Imo, a marketing Genius, for Standing up there Skirting the Facts and Reality, and No One publicly Confronts Him, Why ? We all know the truth, So does He.... How then does He continue the Path, The Almighty Dollars...... He is going off the rails Totally with the filling the " void ", as He put it, with the 2022 Reverse Proofs, Morgan, Peace Silver Dollars. I had Not known about the Same FIJI mint, making the 2023 Morgans and Peace dollar Coins. Also, Called that Because , They Are Not Morgan and Peace dollars, Not,!!!!  Not fully transparent with the spending public. Just Created a Niche to attract " collectors " to Buy. Competition for the U S Mint has to stand Taller than These . While I hold the U S Mints to the Quality, Their Quality has a Certain Clean, Crisp, Solid, Fully Trust-Worthy Backing, Compared to say, These....  |

I would much rather have a proof 'morgan' bullion than the Fiji ones. Premiums too much. It does look neat but its more of a gimmick to me. Its also a shame that its basically a privately minted coin where it is all controlled by one person. At any point in time, the value could be anything it wants. It all depends on the one person who holds the coins. |

Interesting enough I did find a presale of the Morgan ($185) and Peace dollars ($165) on ebay. The description, says the Morgans are sold out for subscriptions, and the Peace is "LOW STOCK LIKELY A SELL OUT!!!" Little misleading for sure. Looks like they are currently not able to be subscribed to now.   side note about Fiji... looks like Fiji is up to it again with the copy of the US ASE. I will have to say I think its neat they did a fractional set of the ASE so I will give them a pass.  Edited by coincollector123

What were the mintage numbers on the proof vs uncirculated of the morgan and peace? The mint website isn't showing them for me anymore.

Uncirculated mintage is 275,000 Proof mintage is 400,000 Reverse Proof mintage is 250,000 with a mintage of 25 for Proof/Uncirculated and 5 for the RP. The other uncirculated from 2021 were basically 175,000 for each Morgan and 200,000 for the Peace dollars. With a mintage limit of 10 (for CC/O) and 3 for D/S/P/Peace. |

Thanks it was strange the only one that was coming up was the uncirculated peace. The rest had a blank space where the number usually is. I went in on the proofs but probably should have gone uncirculated just because of the lower mintage. I just like the proof look more.

Wow, no one bit. The dollar sets the stage of $1.00. The 1/2 oz @.50c, the 1/4 oz @.25c and the 1/10 oz at a dime. If you're going to do fractional, why not adjust the denomination accordingly. JMH question...seems it would be much more interesting.
