Quote: Maybe we ALL should complain or gather a petition to get the mint to do something different - better. The only problem with that is, then they'll say, well if you want better quality you'll need to pay more.

I would pay more for better quality! But the mint creates these to a price point.

me too, the packaging is just as important as the coin for OGP collectors.

My two sets arrived yesterday and they both look perfect. Spectacular, even.

Opened my two sets. It looks like the Peace has a slight nick on the cheek on each one. I bought these for the Peace, so I'm a bit disappointed. Seeing that the Mint is sold out, it doesn't look like I'll be able to return them.

Very nice Mest! I'm glad you got a great set, and Bazooka Joe - sorry to hear about the imperfections, but if you got them on both Peace dollars, I wonder if the flaw is on the die, making this a variety?

Quote: I don't know if that's normal or not. I knew the answer but asked the rep anyway, if I requested replacement what would happen if none are in stock. He said I'd get a refund. Then I said I don't want to get a replacement that has been returned and put back in stock. He said no, returns are not put back in stock, they are sent to be melted. Does anyone know if there is a stated mint policy not to restock returns? When I returned my one of my Peace Proofs, I was told the same thing. Returns are not recycled but destroyed (melted). Only bad thing is, for my return, they will not send a replacement, you will need to purchase another set. If no sets are available, you will not get a replacement.

I got two sets. The Peace were fine but both Morgans have slight scratches on the cheek.

The box doesn't bother me much except I wish they would make them so the fibers don't come loose and get on the capsules. Some UNC and proof Morgan Peace have had fibers inside the capsules, very annoying.
Got the return shipping label from the mint, via UPS. As said earlier, I got two sets, one good, the other with a scratch and ding. Mailed the bad set back today. Will watch tracking and wait for refund.
