I was blocked due to the purchase and non-payment of two coins. I bought 2 coins at a fixed price (not at auction) to see if I could pay my bill. Alas, I could not do it. Support also could not help me in any way until I told them that I live in Russia. Then they said that it was because of my place of residence + they are not sending to Russia now. Alas, it didn't work out, well, nothing. But after a few days I was unable to log in to my account. I wrote to support and they couldn't help me in any way, they just said they couldn't unblock me. What should I do? If there is any option to restore the account. I understand that I won't be able to buy anything from them right now, but I just want to have access to the account.

The account is probably shut down due to sanctions as a result of the war in Ukraine. GC probably will not allow you to have an account because of the risk that you make a transaction or payment from your location. If you were able to do that, GC and the bank that they use would be in a lot of trouble. Better for them to avoid that by shutting down your account. Opening another account would flag you as someone trying to evade U.S. sanctions. I don't think that would go well for you or whatever business facilitated that for you. I would just accept that this is the situation that you are in.

I don 't understand what the problem was then just to tell me about it ?
Does this mean that I should just wait for the end of the actions in Ukraine? And wait for the sanctions to be lifted and I may have my account unblocked ?

Sorry Slerk. We did respond to you about why we could not allow you to bid at GreatCollections.

This has nothing to do with you being in Russia. It's fairly typical if a buyer does not pay their invoice at an auction house or coin dealer that their account is banned. I normally wouldn't post something like this about your account, however, all of the information was in your post above.

AFAICT from their perspective you made a purchase and then did not pay. Everyone (including them) knows that the non-payment was for reasons outside of your control, but they might have thought you could pay anyway (some people in Russia manage, mostly by using foreign bank accounts).
I don't think it's honest to ban for so few unintentional cases of non-payment, but they might have been running on a two-strike system that you accidentally hit at once.

It's also possible that GC was one of the companies pulling out of Russia, and thus once they were officially aware you were from Russia they had no recourse but to block your account.

If it's the latter, your account would hopefully be unblocked after the end of the military operation (if it's not, please notify them).
If it's the former, I'm not sure what you could do; it's probably too late to fix, and you might have to contact them directly to ask if you could make another account (preferably also after the end of the military operation, as there might be sanctions issues involved).

I hope that you eventually manage to return to GC. I heard it's a great place.


EDIT: looking up their rules, I think the situation is that 1) you have to pay them back for the items (and some extra) to restore your account, and 2) they are probably not currently accepting payments from Russia.
If problem 2 resolves (i.e. after the end of the military operation), you might be able to restore your account, though you'll probably have to pay several times what you were planning to pay for the coins (possibly even more, depending on what kind of fees are used; I estimate between $100 and $20,000).

GC is a great place. For the short period that I used it, I was satisfied. I managed to get some coins there for my collection at a good price.

From the GC terms and conditions (emphasis mine).

By the looks of it there's probably a minimum fee that's probably going to be in high double to low triple digits, doubling in ~4 years; possibly other fees. Depending on how far up the chain it goes you might end up liable to four-digit amounts.

Why wasn't I informed about this. I bought coins "buy now" 2 pieces, both of them did not exceed $ 20.
I can't tell you the exact amount because I don't have access to the purchase history, and I didn't save the letter in the mail.
By the way, I wrote to them on July 26, they ignored me.

Until you can pay what you owe and a penalty, I think you are banned. And even then, they may keep you still banned. Its a consequence of buying an item and not being able to pay, even though no fault of your own.
