I'll bet anyone my first roll that a member here will be the first to find the first error of these new cents.

That's a beautiful reverse design. The update was long overdue. Congrats to the Mint for making a beautiful coin! Now if only their other new coins were just as spectacular...

I also attended the event today. Was able to go through the line multiple times, so was able to get more than just one set of 10 rolls. I took it a step further though. After the event was over and I had "cents in hand" I went to the local post office. They had the new Lincoln stamp and special first day of issue postmark. I bought some stamps and took a few rolls and affixed a stamp onto the roll as to seal the paper. Then went to the window and the clerk used the first day if issue postmark on the roll. The great thing is, the post office will destroy the special postmark tomorrow so these rolls will be extremely limited. VERY NICE, if I say so myself. I also did the same basic thing with a whole sealed box. (Used the stamps as a seal on the box seam and had the post office use their postmark on them). P.S. Looks like this is my 50th post. Yeah me! P.P.S. Just so everyone here on this forum knows... the rolls like this on ebay right now are not mine. I was one of 4 people doing this at the P.O.. I heard two of the others telling people they were going straight to ebay when they got home. As others on this board can verify, I like to trade not sell.

I was there also and just took the 10 rolls. Did not stick around for repeats. I did stop by Bardstown to ask for some half dollars and received 55 silver ons. I can always pick up boxes of cents.

Noticed some full 50 roll boxes of the 09's on ebay. I wonder how somebody got a full box today?

I actually don't like these auctions. I mean, they're going to be in everybody's pockets in a matter of weeks. Why is everyone going crazy right now?

Quote: Why is everyone going crazy right now? HOARD! With an excess of cents already available, it could be months before some parts of the country see these in circulation. Bank availability will be limited in the first half of the year too. I'm going crazy for the bronze cents myself! I hope UNC bronze cents are available directly from the mint. I want to put a couple rolls of these together.

Even tho I haven't been able to get any, at least we know that they exist, and are FINALLY circulating I have a $5.00 bills in various pl;aces, so that when someone does find them, I'll have at least ten rolls. That is better than nothing. I hope to get a box of each reverse. I might have to fight for them, but, "All's fair in love and war"! I didn't niotice anything but the spots. Maybe a rinse will clean that off. BTW, the corner of the cabin sure lends itself to the DDR's! Dick

That was about the smartest possible thing you could have done, you have complete provenance of the rolls now and they are really set apart from an ordinary roll obtained at a bank I was in Springfield today and USPS was also doing a cancellation event there. I now own three sets of the new Lincoln stamps with the special large cancellation, all affixed to crisp, consecutive $5s
