I've never seen this on a coin personally, and I've also never seen a Broadstruck coin. Is this what that looks like? Thanks in advance.

Looks to be PMD... possibly encased at some point in the past for a jewelry piece

@plant, you can see broadstruck coins either by searching here at CCF or else looking at the error-ref website. Your cent was previously encased, which has removed the rims.

Yes, looks to be an encased specimen. I've run across a few of these--various wheat years--over decades of cent searching.
