1991, the last year of the Soviet Union and the year I discovered the music of Prince. Being an immature 15 year old I found his x rated songs hilarious. New Zealand issued its second group of $1 and $2 coins.   10 million more of each coin were issued to complement the 70 million dated 1990 coins already in circulation. It would be sufficient to last until 1997 for $2 and 2000 for any more $1 coins to be issued. These are better examples from change, most of the ones from 1990 or 1991 now are worn down to Fine or even VG.   Australia 1991 coin set. This was a significant year, as the $1 and $2 coins were only issued in sets along with the 20 cents. The 50 cents as shown above in another post was a commemorative and the 1c and 2c were the last ones issued until later commem ones came out in sets in 2006, 2019 and 2020 (Bubblegum coins). The set itself is beautiful. The 1c and 2c were only issued in the set and no as circulation coins which stopped in 1990. |
