Hi, My uncle dropped off a lot of coins for me to sell on ebay for him, and I was looking around the net to figure out what to write about these halfs, and fortunately came across this fabulous community!! I have next to little knowlege, but I've learned so much in the last hour, just reading the different discussions. One of the coins I'm putting up for sale tomorrow is this half dollar. What do you think about the grade of this coin? Are the pics good enough for people to see what they're going to receive? Thanks for any suggestions! Alice

Pics of the reverse are helpful for grading and would be good to include with your ebay auction. Based on your obverse pic, I would say it would grade VG-10 since most of Liberty is there but not complete.

Welcome to our CC family.

Your pictures are very nice for an ebay auction but I agree that a reverse picture is important also. Many of these coins wear heavily on the reverse and people are going to want to see that.

I would grade this coin as a Fine (F12). I can see all of the lettering in LIBERTY though portions of the letters are fainter, I can make out complete letters.

Please feel free to post any questions you have. We also have an Auction Discussion section and you can post there for suggestions on your auctions and opinions. We will do everything we can to help you represent your coins accurately.

Thank you Susan and Bio! Yes, my pics include the full front and reverse. Also a close up of the bottom and top half of each side. I have 5 of them going on tonight and will try to put all the halfs he brought over on this week, in case someone wants to get more than one, I can combine shipping for them. This site showed me what was important to see on the halfs, but I'm really concerned about the silver dollars. It looks like there is much more to judge. Most are in the plastic holders, like these halfs. Some of them are so shiny they look like new. On the other hand he has some in little yellow envelopes, and they're dark, shine all gone. This is going to be a big project, because he has a lot of coins to be sold. I told him to bring over about 40 a week, don't know if I could handle more than that. Thanks, I'll look for the auction discussion section. I know I'll need some help with those dollar coins. Alice
