Would just like to get some feedback on this one.. Also, to make sure, is this the reverse of 1879?

VF30 with the 3rd reverse (which I think is also described as the reverse of 1879). It doesn't quite make EF in my opinion because of the breast feather wear and the obverse wear above the ear.

Hi Realitor

I see the coin as a VF-35,, The 1878 has 3- 7 tail feather Reverses and Iam not expert enough to tell you which you have for sure.

I'd like to get some more input on this coin from whomever would like to give it--the first two pics above were scans. These are actual pictures, much bigger.

Reverse: http://www.bensellswisconsin.com/co...787tfrev.jpg

Thanks in advance!

I'm going along with the VF-35, but with the qualification made below. My first impression from the first set of photos was VF-35 and it's reinforced with the second set. However, that rim ding at 1230 o'clock over the second "S" in States will bring the grade down, might even bodybag it. If it comes down instead of BBed, it'll be more in the line of VF-20 or -25; I don't think it'll make VF-30 if that ding is as serious as it looks in the first set of images.

That's what I was waiting to hear, Fred. Was curious to see if anyone would point that out..
Thanks for the input!
