I'd just reiterate if there is a need for quick funds the selling the silver bar which (likely) has only bullion value would a relatively risk free way to buy time.
My personal opinion is that as the Fed policy of raising interest rates/ creating a recession will tend to force people to liquidate their bullion positions.

Remember precious metals are measured in troy ounces. Not adv. ounces which are 16 ounces to a advp. (standard) pound. It's still a huge amount. There are about 14.5 troy ounces to a advp. pound and since it sounds like most of it is 90% silver then you're at 13 troy ounces of actual silver weight (asw) per advp. pound. Also remember that Kennedy halves dated 1965 through 1970 are 40% silver.

Speaking of Kennedy halves, there are at least 10 sealed rolls purchased at a bank. How would they be graded when they have been sealed. Iirc they were uncirculated 1964

I would recommend that you classify all the coins and maybe gradually sell something. You can open an account and put all the proceeds from sales there, it will be interesting to see after a while what money you received from your inheritance. I think I will sell the SF mint bar marked 117.39 with a black felt marker. There can't be many of these around. Are they just worth bullion or is there any premium?

Where are you located? Maybe someone can recommend a qualified dealer, someone who knows coins as well as bullion, in your area.

Ok I have about 405 1964 Kennedy halves and this is what they look like. I have no idea how they would be graded or the worth.

Looking at ebay maybe $15? These were 2 of the 5 loose ones. Maybe the rolled ones are different. Anyway my Mom purchased these just because as a kid I was a big JFK fan.

I don't think it makes sense to have the Kennedy halves graded, unless you find a MS65+ coin or proof perhaps.

cool bar that may have a premium but keep in mind ebay allows you to list items for ANY price as it is a free market. Therefore the price that an item is listed for rather than sold for should be taken lightly
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better?

My brother lives in the Bay Area about 25 miles from that dealer. He is experienced buying/selling silver and will be honest with you about values. Since you're new, I am not sure if direct contact is allowed though?
