Lucky Cuss Pillar of the Community United States 4883 Posts	Posted 12/07/2022 6:17 pm So far as I can determine, this is but one of a series of souvenir medals struck in copper (bronze?), but this one appears to be cupronickel in composition. A bit over silver dollar sized. Quite lovely die work. Some references state that the gold showing up in the 49er's pan is a genuine, albeit tiny, gold nugget (apparently glued in place), so I feel fortunate to have found this specimen intact. Were you able to determine whose artwork this is?
