I'm collecting a couple sets of which a folder or album has never been made.
Any suggestions on how I would make my own folders? Nothing fancy. I imagine it's simple to do with paper cardboard and cutting out the exact size holes. A printing business perhaps?

Might be difficult to cut a perfect circle for each coin unless you had a punch or hole saw blade the exact size needed. It would be easier to just buy a ring binder that uses vinyl pages holders. Let us know if you come up with something.

One option would be to check for custom die cutting services on Etsy. Someone out there probably has the means and experience to do precision cutting in heavy duty card stock. Might not be cheap, but the results may be decent. Maybe.

Unless you are doing it for the joy of it, I would recommend against embarking on the project.

There are other solutions available. Check out https://www.capsalbums.com for one flexible option.

Depends what the coin sizes are and quantities. For example we were discussing making a custom album for innovation dollars using dansco blank pages that are available in different coin sizes without all the pre printed text under the portholes, since the layout of the dansco album wasnt what everyone wanted. http://goccf.com/t/423647&whichpage=6

You can just get some clear plastic/vinyl pages, some 2x2s and a binder which might look something like this (although there are numerous pages and binders or album covers in all the sizes depending what you are trying to do) https://www.etsy.com/listing/106078...ecting-album

And the mentioned capsalbums. Beyond that you would be needing a printer who does custom design and works with the materials you want such as cardboard. Generally design work is only cost effective more when you are trying to then sell or make many more copies to recoup the initial design costs. If its something that would appeal to other collectors you can speak to whitman , littleton, or other existing makers of coin albums if this is not going to be something only you and a few might like.

This is what I recommend.

I have several albums using blank Dansco binders and pages. They come in a variety of sizes...

yep, as mentioned above, those ideas and helpful hint are great advice. From personal experience - I use Dansco album pages and label them the way I want them. For example, look at my signature for a link to my Quarters albums - (those are the ones I made a lot of custom changes to fit my collection.)

I use sleeves (as shown) for 2x2's and capsule sleeves for AirTite Encased Coins with regular office binders. The binders are different colors and I use my little, handy dandy label maker.

My Mom kept her Mercury dimes in Whitman's and now half of the coins are dark by being exposed to the air and the other half of the coins have nice luster. I can place my binders on bookshelves and they are virtually unnoticeable. They aren't on open bookshelves ofcourse.

We get our supplies from JP's Corner. Nice products and pretty good prices.
Rest in Peace

You mentioned how to make your own folders . There is a lot of difference between a folder and an album . Unless your a super craftsman I would just go buy Whitman folders , they are cheap enough so you won't have to rack your brains out trying to make them .
