I received this coin from my dad who recently passed away. I'm questioning whether or not it's real. It passes the basic magnet and weight test. Although looking at it, the toning looks man-made. I am no expert at judging by looking at the strike. Opinions appreciated.
The genuine die pair below is from a normal date 1895 O. This is the only die pair that could match. The OP example has cast bumps, and looks like a counterfeit. There are some things that look off, but is closer than expected. The spacing from the bottom of 1 to denticles is different. The tail of the 5 is different and the shape of the O mint mark is different.
