Those appear to be die chips.

Yes, I know. Is this a known error? What could be the value of this error?

Why are die chips on quarters, worth looking for and sell as imperfections? Like a BIE error on a penny. Why do people hunt for die chips?

When you say it adds no extra value, why is it people are selling them on ebay and making money on quarters and pennies with die chips?

IMO, people who are "attempting to sell" coins w/ die chips on ebay, Etsy, etc. are trying to make a quick buck & take advantage of people who are naive & unfamiliar w/ "real" errors/varieties. Think about if for a minute.... logically, WHY would someone purchase a die chip coin on ebay or Etsy for $1-$100, when they could find one in circulation if they just did a little CRH'ing?

I do agree with that, I find many quarters with dye chips and have only recently started looking at times. I don't see many imperfections on dimes, this one is a big die chip in my opinion. Do you collect dimes, or search dimes? If so have you found one with this type of imperfection? Just curious

To be completely honest, I'm mainly focused on wheat & Lincoln cents. From time to time, I do search nickel, dimes & quarters but I'm really only looking for toned coins, doubled dies, rotated dies, clashes, Cuds & the occasional silver. That being said, not every coin is going to have die chips, but if its unique & you like it or believe it has value, keep it. There are coins I have found that have no additional value, but are unique to me & added them to my collection.

Thank you for your response, coin rejector. I respect your opinion. And you are correct, the 2019 imperfection is very similar to my 2022 p. I searched specifically 2022, apparently that's why I did not find it. Thank you again for going the extra step.

As I mentioned, I've just started searching dimes. I generally only keep major imperfections, error coins, and unique coins.
With that being said, please look for my upcoming post on the Lucky Penny I found.
