What exactly is your question for us? Your photos are ok, nothing is jumping out as obvious. Your rim has a few nicks from circulation, but I'm not seeing a noticeable problem. Please explain what you are seeing to think your cent has value someone would want to buy? We'll help you if we can. I do see slight DDD which isn't an error but perhaps I'm just not seeing your issue. to the CCF!

I am sure your friend means well, maybe he has not seen the coin, if he has then you both need to post your questions about coins on this site, so we can help you. The coin you have, is a normal cent other than maybe some MD.

Just a coin struck with an aged die. Not a premium for this. Spendable.

to the CCF and Just a common cent. You need to know what you're selling before you sell anything. Learn what an error or variety is and how they are made, then you'll know what they are worth.

That's basically what I thought but my buddy had convinced me it was a DDO as opposed to DDD. I appreciate the feedback and for quickly dragging me back to earth.

This would be a great place for a quick education for this idiot if possible. My question would be. So an aged die could/would cause DDD to so many different places on the reverse of this penny? The one cent, left side of the memorial, the U And the N. Does a die become worn in all places in the same time period or are there places where that happens quicker.

Quote: Does a die become worn in all places in the same time period or are there places where that happens quicker. That's a great question. This coin does have some serious DDD in a lot of places, more so than I have usually seen. Here is a good explanation on Wexler's site. It seems they should have changed out this die much earlier! https://doubleddie.com/144843.html

thanx for the link Cointree. Am trying hard to educate myself as I found I enjoy spending 8 to 10 hours a day with magnifying glass, loupe, coin microscope and a bunch of coins. Great way to spend my time now that I have retired.
