After studying this find from many angles, I've come to the conclusion that what I'm looking at here is the result of both hub doubling and Strike Doubling. I'm new at this, though, so I could totally be wrong! Input is greatly appreciated!
Unfortunately neither your coin nor the coin on ebay appear to be doubled dies. IMO this is solely Machine Doubling (maybe accentuated by some slight DDD?) on the right side of the letters.
On the DDO on the motto area, the devices will be enlarged in a distorted appearance on the motto. Machine Doubling leaves the normal shape of the devices unaltered: Note the distortion on the image on the rights devices? This is caused by the slight movement of the hub during the die creation process on these single hub dies. (Even the slightest movement can still alter the dies) Even the slightest movement can affect the die creation process. Machine Doubling just flattens devices. A doubled die enlarges the devices.
CoopHome: [red]More doubled dies compared with hub doubling examples distortion.
Thank you all for the correction and information! I was wondering if that was the case - I did notice that the letters seemed to be the same size as usual. All those extra lines had me fooled. Hopefully I'll know better next time! I'm glad to be learning!
