Need help with this VAM. It has the extra olive but not sure which one it is. It is a worn coin so I can't see what other doubling there is on the reverse. Also putting on pics of the ear because I have no idea what to look for on the ear ( VAM #4). Please help. Thanks

There isn't a whole lot of photographic evidence for individual 1902-P VAM's. A start will be date placement. The tip of Liberty's neck will point straight at a space between denticles; starting there, count the denticles to the left end of the lower serif of the 1. A "Near Date" coin should line up at the beginning of the second serif from the neck. The difference between "Near Date" and "Normal Date" won't be as much as a full denticle.

I think VAM-4 is a Near Date, but not identified as such; that complicates things.
