At least, if you are in the after market, you can easily find what is out there, and what the stabilized after market prices are. Every coin has to be best value for money at the time of purchase, otherwise I am not interested., My numismatic buy varies greatly from year to year. Because of that, I really must do some soul searching on every coin that I may buy, that has significant value. Fortunately I don't have to worry about rent; I paid the mortgage off more than 30 years ago. Impossible to guess the spend for 2026, but if I can't buy for financial reasons, I don't buy. My rationalization is that I am doing this to leave to my children and grandchildren, but I am burying it in the backyard & only I and the chihuahua know where, so best they keep me healthy and happy. This whole 2026 thing has me nervous as I am already checking the US Mint site every few nights to see if I am missing anything I would want.... all the while the chihuahua is sitting there, staring at me.... I only collect modern coins and mostly 1 oz silver coins like ASEs, Krugerrands, Maples, Libertads, etc. As long as mints keep putting those out I'll be fine. As far as budgeting goes I try not to place more than one order on any given day.
