Quote: You aren't getting the first of 2,023 made, you are getting one of 2,023 made. Yes I know that! Which is the purpose of this topic - just like my analogy of every player gets a trophy no matter how badly they lose.. everyone who get one of these gets to say that they have the 'first' one.
The silver/gold foil labels come out time to time and the total made for these specific labels usually seems to be tied to the year of release (1 of 2016, 1 of 2013 as below images I added to show examples, 1 of 2023 here). It is not as good as individual serialized coins or labels since you could have the #1 of 2023 rather than the # 1500 of 2023 but still limited overall.. However it also requires demand/popularity of those wanting an example over the total number made/available to increase values over time which is why many dont increase. Another thing to keep in mind is that only a subset of collectors want the specialty labels to keep in mind so the lower # made the better in those cases. Registry sets can sometimes push up values if they are needed or desired in a set/collection. Otherwise I just mentioned some interesting ones like the emergency issues or perhaps those from a show that many like. PCGS eventually retires all Special Labels as well, adding a limited edition nature to those custom releases so if they are close to the same price when buying a coin anyway then it might be a nice add but buying 6 variations of the same coin with different labels where many wont go up in value is not...logical.
Quote: So how do you pronounce your name David? Is it dAvid or Daveed?
Never knew my name was so difficult, certainly a name you dont come across too often Looks like Daveed was a uncommon variant of the classic name David by actor/rapper Daveed Diggs (Hamilton on broadway)...apparently his parents chose that odd spelling because his dad "liked the look of it" and I had not come across it otherwise.
Spanish people tend to pronounce my name David in spanish that way however, Dah-veed.
And another for the morgan and peace collector coinaholics....
New company ultrabreaks teamed with PCGS. Each pack they sell contains a US MINT 2023 Morgan or Peace dollar PCGS MS70 Ultra coin all with a special Silver Foil label. However, one in 10 packs features an Ultra Gold Rush Label. Only one in 100 contains the elusive Ultra Infinity Label. Only 267 Ultra labels tare assigned to each of the two coins, while just 30 each were graded with Gold Rush labels. Merely three of each coin were paired with the Infinity label.
Just 300 examples of each the 2023 Morgan dollar and 2023 Peace dollar are encapsulated with the holographic labels, which come in three levels: Ultra, Gold Rush, and Infinity. Each pack will contain one MS70 coin (these are the uncirculated not proof), with a chance at either dollar coin in all three different labels.
So I guess its the added fun of chasing the rare cards in a card pack is what they are after but with coins. Too bad they are $249.95 although you are guaranteed at least one of 267 limited of the ultra in ms70.
