I had read about this on a Facebook group I am on, now I am unsure as the post is now gone. I have seen pictures, I will try to post another I have found. So "possibly" this is true, that 200 Peace dollars were shipped at random with a numbered and hand signed COA by director Gibson.
I saw that someone on the PCGS boards received one. It would be great to get one of these with either a Morgan or Peace. There is a debate as to if this would qualify as a SP designation.
2023 uncirculated peace silver dollar appears that there has been a select few 200 of the total mintage to be exact that the United States director Ventris Gibson struck herself. They will be coming with a congratuations card similar to how you would get in a congratulations set proof American Silver Eagle. Also signed all of those certificate authenticating these.

Apparently PCGS again wants a sealed US MINT box packaging to get the ventris gibson 2023 directors strike encapsulation. So you would apparently have to send it sealed in hopes yours is one of the special ones as once you open it you cant submit it for the added special encapsulation. So I bet those will be of very high value when graded due to that. I wonder if there is anyway to tell when sealed as likely not, there is a low chance of being the special coin.

Reminds me of the congratulations W ASEs are the same as the regular release with just the added packaging. Unfortunately to grade for the special label you have to send sealed in mint package as well so people cant switch them out if the quality looks poor with a better one and I guess makes it hard then to cherry pick also for that specific one (only for grading wise I mean, fine to open to check as a gift for someone.) we were discussing here http://goccf.com/t/442461#3814529
The congratulations cards may well have significant value, but unless those 200 coins that are associated with the cards have some small but significant identifier marks on the coins themselves, they will not have any extra significant value.
There many enthusiastic baseball card collectors out there. This occasion may well be the start a numismatic card market. !
While I Agree with Sel-691, Ridiculous Label Makers.... The Signed cards will Bring a Premium, Regardless of Any Other Factors, Signed 200 out of a Mintage of 275,000, Whatever the Percentages of obtaining One, What are them Thar Odds, DD,
IF I were to receive One of the COA's, It would NEVER see the Label Makers Hands, All Original !!!!!

The box package it comes in appears to say director's strike which should differ from the non directors strike package if all this is completely accurate since its just released new info. So you have a different box and the card.
It would have been better if the coin had a special mint mark or inside the box was a redemption card for a signed and already graded coin. Since the coin itself appears to be the same (like the mentioned congratulations set) then thats why you cant open it because otherwise you could put any coin in once you had the special package and coa to get one with a 70. Like cheerios.
Quote: That's just stupid. You have to send all of them in the mint package. Just another way for the grader to stick it to us.
Yes seems so as far as if you bought say 10 and wanted to send for potentially finding one of them. Not sure what the price is if you dont grade if its not.
But you can't open the box and peek. I wonder if you put a tiny hole away from the tape/seal and use a camera (since the box is different) would count as still sealed.

Wrong DATA, you need star treks Data.
The chance of any box having a ventris coin and COA is .07%, according to one post. 200 out of 275,000 I gather if this is legit. I mean why didnt they also do 200 of the morgans?
I'm with you on the all original, but having a graded one would be even less than the 200 due to needing to not be opened and sending it and paying fees to grade, and so only a few will exist and those registry players will pay for them.
