Is a registry set consisted of proof coins also or only business strike coins from those specific years? And how much does it cost to get a registry set graded including major varieties and RPMs? Long story short I have every single silver Roosevelt dime from 46 through 64, p d and s mint marks. All in good condition almost all with full bands. But a vast amount of them look very shiny. Almost proof like but not Cameo proof and I'm trying to debate whether it's better to get it graded as a set or to sell the double dies and RPMs themselves after getting graded. I know absolutely nothing about registry sets so I'm just wondering if I can get a valued opinion from some of you long time collectors.

And also, I know that the grading services charge extra if you want them to find which variety error you have. So would I be paying that same extra amount for every coin if I did not know which error I had?

You can look at both PCGS and NGC websites to see what coins are included in a particular registry set. The PCGS and NGC sets sometimes include the same coins and sometimes are different.

There are several different Roosevelt dime sets. Some are business strikes only, some are poofs only, some include both and varieties as well, others don't. Your coins may (probably will) fit with more than one set.

You can see the cost of getting your coins graded by looking at either the PCGS or NGC submission forms. Unless you can negotiate a price to grade the complete set, you will pay the per coin price indicated on those forms. Variety attribution is an additional cost.

Datguyy77, I have 848 coins in the NGC Registry, making up 38 different sets, but I have never sent a raw coin into NGC for grading with the intent to add the coin to the Registry (I've bought all my registry coins already graded).
In other words, it may be cost prohibitive to send an entire set of raw coins to PCGS or NGC just to participate in a Registry. But if you decided to do so, for a extra fee, the grading service will label all your slabs as "Datguyy77 Collection."

Thank you for both the information and advice. Me taking pictures of all my best coins and cropping them and shrinking them down to put them on this site would be very time consuming and I was just looking for an opinion based on the facts I had given. The information given to me was enough for me to get a better understanding of what needs to be done. It's greatly appreciated. Thanks
