I ran across the site by accident. Gadoury is known to me from the old French coin catalogs, but I was unaware that it continues as a coin dealer until I found it accidentally. A huge selection of French coins.

I have not yet, but I did bookmark it as a page I'll need to visit for upcoming buys.

I finally received an 1822-H Louis XVIII 2F from Gadoury. I had to do repeats with the credit card before it was accepted. The coin was extremely well packed (it looked like a book shipment) and was UPS signature.

I haven't purchased a 2F recently because of the extreme scarcity of the ones I want. This one isn't pretty, but less than a half dozen exist. I've only seen them in coin catalogs.

The ca. 1815-1830 2F, 1F are all generally scarce (esp. non-Paris mint), but less than 6 known for the 1822-H 2F is an undercount. A quick check shows CGB has sold 3 pieces and iNumis 2 more. No others on acsearch that I see but surely others exist.

My old Le Franc only showed two. If people started slabbing them I'm sure more would show up.

A few years ago someone disbursed a fair sized lot of them on ebay, and that's the last time I picked up any of the better Louis XVIII and Charles X 2F pieces. The other great source was the Quebec dealer Carol Plante. I have one of his old mimeographed lists from 1981 to drool over....he had a lot of rare ones listed but no 1822-H.
