Sell As A Coin Or Scrap?


Does the date look a little strange to you-
the '2' seems very squashed whilst the '5' looks thinner than the other numerals
--or is it just a result of wear?

I wouldn't exactly say it's scrap, but it's not exactly a worth book value. The "2" in 1852 appears to be a combination of wear and a weak strike on the lower right from a worn die. A similar wear at the end of "GRATIA" seems to imply this. Obviously the hole diminishes its value, and the thin parallel streaks on the obverse may hint at a bit of cleaning. Just my opinion. Others may feel differently.

The hole hurts the value a bit, but this still isn't scrap. I'd still grade it F-15 and sell it for a little less because of the hole.
