This nickel sees to have serious blurring of the images on the obverse and reverse. Never saw one like this before.

Hmm that is weird. Maybe spent time on a polishing wheel? I don't think it is just die degeneration.

eek, reminds me of the orange peel on nickels from worn dies that was too common during the 1950s and 1980s, I think the OP's coin represents a very late die state

Agreed, a severe case of orange peel texture from Die Deterioration. I would keep it. It's a great example. https://www.error-ref.com/orange-pe...20roughness.

It almost has the appearance of being stuck through a late stage die cap, but I don't think that happens anymore. Just from the blurred nature of the devices, I almost wonder if it was plated with something. I guess Die Deterioration could explain it? Better pictures with less glare might help.

Guys, I'm just finding it hard to believe that in 2023, the Mint let a die get that bad without catching it. To me, this nickel looks acid damaged, plated, something that is PMD.
