coinnewcomer1, funny that you mentioned the 2021 Washington Crossing The Delaware quarter. I got my first one in change today!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Technically the type 1 SLQ doesn't count as it was issued in 1916 and 1917 (even though the 1916 is out of most people's price range). And the Biafran coin - wow, that's one you don't see everyday. You should look at the images that came out of that civil war... tragic. Some other U.S. one-year types that haven't been shown here: 1793 Half Cent1787 Fugio cent (since PCGS recognizes this as an American issue now) 1793 chain cent (someone got one?) 1793 wreath cent 1859 Indian cent (without the shield on the reverse) 1909 VDB Wheat cent (though technically that is a commemorative) 1792 Half Disme (anyone got this one?) 1796 quarter (anyone got one?) 1853 quarter and half with arrows and rays 1921 Peace dollar (while there is a 1922 high relief known it is out of the price range of 99% of the population so I shouldn't count it) 1808 quarter eagle (anyone got one of these?) For fun, you can add the 1851-O silver trime, 1921-D Morgan and 1912-D and 1912-S V nickels (though including them would be stretching the concept a bit)

Quote: 1948 Netherlands Very clever triggersmob. I assume these coins are one-year type due to the portrait of Queen Wilhelmina that was updated post WW2.

They are one-year type because Wilhelmina abdicated in September of 1948. Beginning in 1950, these types were updated with the portrait of the new queen, Juliana, and minted through 1980.

I have one of these but it's nowhere near as nice. It's probably about as good as that first 1883 No Cents V nickel I showed you.

Quote: 1968 Canada 10c. OK, I don't know a whole lot about Canadian coins, so I have to ask: what exactly is "one year only" about this one?
