I came across this and wanted to get some thoughts on it. LIB is missing in LIBERTY. I know the poor coin has seen better days, but it doesn't appear like the LIB has ever been there. The planchet is thinner than normal (in one of the pics it is compared to a normal one cent planchet) and only weighs 2.16 grams. Could the planchet being thinner than normal effect the strike on the coin to the point that the LIB did not imprint on the coin. The 5 in the date is very weak also. I'm anxious to hear your opinions.

You have nice sharp pics of the areas in question on the obverse. Could you provide equally sharp pics of the reverse in the areas that oppose Liberty and the 5 of the date.

Yes, please post up better full coin images with better lighting (not so much light to create glare but enough to illuminate the coin better).
The coin seems to be significantly lighter than it should be - it does not appear to be a split planchet, but hard to tell with current images.

Weak rim combined with weight - rolled thin planchet.
