Found this 1964 Canada nickel,
Nothing out of ordinary but it sticks to a magnet.
I look them up and they are supposed to be made of nickel like the USA. NON MAGNETIC.
IS THIS MINTED ON STEEL PLANCHET?

I believe the answer is that the Canadian 1964 5c is 100% nickel (or close to it), which is magnetic. The US nickel is 25% nickel and 75% copper; the alloy is not magnetic at room temperature.

@itsonlymoney - The Canadian nickel: Chrome plated steel (1953-1954), 99.9% nickel (1955-1964). Both magnetic.
1964 Jefferson nickels contain 75% copper and 25% nickel. non-magnetic

Despite the nickname, American "nickels" aren't made of pure nickel, and never have been. They're made of a cupronickel alloy - 75% copper, 25% nickel.

Pure nickel is magnetic; cupronickel is not.
