I also got the email. I did receive a response from Heritage regarding all the "double" die descriptions that says they're looking into it. We'll see I guess - that's a lot of editing.

I notice they have changed all the "double die" references to Doubled Die. Kudos to Heritage for fixing that.

It took me about a 6 months to put all of this together, including a pdf for all the die variety sections for all of the books, it was almost like writing a book. Heritage did an incredible job putting it into their format and working with me.

I am working with CONECA to donate my coin photos to them. I have taken 30-40K photos, scanned all of them into digital form, CONECA has the largest number of die variety collectors around. By donating my photos to them, I believe they will be able to greatly expand their coverage, especially on 19th century die varieties, and the photos can be used to help collectors expand their knowledge. I am still working on books, but I do not use the actual photos any more.

There is a second auction for the certified non die varieties, this includes a 1974D Silver Ike in MS62 I kept my OMMs and my offcenter and a few of my off denomination clashes as these were my favorite I also have a lot of uncertified die varieties that I have to figure out how to sell

I didn't see this post when it came out last month. I picked up your 1876 Seated Liberty quarter MPD-002 with the 8 and the 7 below in the denticles last night at auction. I was not going to let that one go! I have a few varieties for that date. But, the MPD-002 has been a tough one for me to find. I also just picked up your book... Two Dates Are Better Than One, A Collector's Guide To Misplaced Dates. With over 500 pages I'm sure I'm going to be fascinated by it when it arrives and then find myself branching out into MPD collecting in an array of different series as a result. So I thank you in advance.

Quote: There WERE some Very Sweet Coins up for Auction... Yes. There. Were. Awesome coins last night and I managed to hang onto two of the 15 I bid on. I got in early (and low) so I could follow ones that were of interest to me. I ended up with: -1961 D/Horizontal D Memorial cent (ANACS MS64). There were a number of those, so I figured I stood a chance. -1956-D/D 1C Repunched Mintmark, RPM-008, FS-508, MS64 Red ANACS (Which happens to be a plate coin) Thanks Kevin and best of luck in your future pursuits.

Petespockets55 There were a bunch of 61D/Horiz D as I found all of them in a single new roll. The 56D RPM #8 was one of my favorites as you can see the outline of an entire secondary D. Thanks for your help Kevin
