Something just seems really off with this Buffalo nickel. It's being sold as a proof, but it doesn't have the flat fields and sheen of a proof. It reminds me of the heavily polished Peace dollar we discussed a few weeks ago. Is this really a proof nickel? Or is it just polished, whizzed, plated, or something else?

Who knows? Tons of positive feedback, full returns. Do you want a raw proof with a rim issue?

It's a fair point. I don't actually want a Buffalo proof at all. It appeared in the list while I was browsing Jefferson nickel proofs.

Read the negative feedback on that seller. Lots of people complaining that they were sent a different coin than the one they purchased. Quite a few complaints about buffed and polished coins sent as BU coins. Also complaints that their return window is impossibly short, and about the seller stiffing them on refunds. The feedback isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

On further review, there seem to be multiple rim issues on both sides of this coin - look carefully.

They've received 301 neutral and negative feedback over the past 12 months. Unless there is an item # in the title, it's a "stock photo" not the actual coin, and that seems to be just about everything they have for sale. Lots of feedback complaining that the coin received is nowhere near the condition advertised by the stock photo (go figure). Not someone I would purchase from.

Probably a glamour shot of an impaired and it seems damaged (rim issues) proof. I doubt they'd be selling a polished coin as a proof.
