The 1874 British penny has a whole host of die varieties. This one has the earlier bust of Queen Victoria on the obverse. The reverse has a wide date and a thick lighthouse:

This is another 1874 Royal Mint penny, but the obverse has the more matronly version of the Bun Head with a thicker neck, and the reverse has a narrow date and a thinner lighthouse:

Two 1864 Indian Head cents.

First one is copper-nickel, the second is bronze.

Please excuse the bad photo of the former, it was taken a long time ago.

The seated Liberty is not quite what I was looking for as they are different years,
but still nice to see the difference.

Here are two 1917 Standing Liberty quarters, the first with the original risque bare-breasted Liberty and the second with the more modest Liberty clad in chain mail. More noticeable, especially on worn examples, is the addition of the 3 stars on the reverse...

Seeing jbuck's avatar reminded me of the bicentennial Ike dollars. The blockier lettering on the reverse was revised for the "type 2" version.

Nice examples hokiefan!

Mine are 1889 British shillings. For some reason in 1889 it was decided to enlarge the Jubilee bust of Queen Victoria on the shilling. This created two types of 1889 shilling - the scarce Small Head and the relatively common Large Head. I have both types but the condition leaves something to be desired: my excuse is that the Small Head is quite expensive in any condition, and the Large Head specimen has great sentimental value as I found it with my metal detector!
