I have a 1971 Kennedy half dollar. Newbie here...Are all these things caused by PMD? The die is chipping of in a few places; above the B and between the S&O. Also, I noticed doubling in letters and on the armor there are doubling.

Something is on the coin. Try soaking it in pure Acetone, to see if it comes off. The doubling you are seeing might be Die Deterioration Doubling.

with Errers and Varietys - A good long soak in acetone would help you with this coin.

I tried the spot with the acetone and the sliver flake that was peeling come off. Should I do that for the whole coin?
