Even though tricking us a a bit uncalled for, still I thank you for showing me a new coin!

By the way, does anyone know what the edge lettering is?

**Haha IBGolden, I saw that last post before you deleted it, and I'll stand by your defense if anything should arise.

what you think I copied these from a website? Tell me to write something on a piece of paper with the coin on it to show you I have them right here.

That one with the marks on it I accidentally sent the wrong pic. That picture was sent to me when I was asking a coin collector for help. He is from Calgary snd owns a store. I just downloaded the wrong one. I just checked and he must have got it off that website.

Anyways I am not pulling anyones leg. I will prove it in whatever way you want.

... you know when you see something hilarious and then you try to explain it to someone else... possibly while still laughing... and it just makes no sense to the explainee... aaahhh, let's leave it at that.

... no harm done and I wore out my edit button! I might as well have had a coffee...

Actually sdexcid, can you try to take a better (higher quality) pic of the 1933? You don't have to write anything on it.

And by the way, it's illegal because it was struck after FDR said that the dollar was supposed to be taken off the gold standard and private citizens were no longer allowed to own gold. That was in 1932, thus all gold coins struck in 1933 were not really authorized and were supposed to be melted down. However, about 10 of these specimens escaped from the mint and they have now become true rarities.

The only thing I have here that I use to take pictures is a scanner and a camera. I tried with the camera but its way too fuzzy when I zoom in. So unfortunatley I cant do it higher.

I was just going to stand back and take a picture with me in it so you guys could see they are really mine or whatever.

Anyways I had an offer of $800 USD for that 1897 coin. From a coin collector in Calgary. I don't think I will sell it. I think it's pretty cool to have old coins.

From what I have researched $800 seems liek a really good offer as most ok graded ones go for about $450 USD. So I assume this one is graded a little higher. Regardless, I think I will hold onto it.

Are you using macro focus, as in focus with the flower symbol?

That's right, coincommunity also doubles as a photography community.

Would love to see some higher quality pics of the exact coins you have. Pics found online might look exactly the same but there can be very small signs that allows us to grade and price it more accurately.
