thanks mod for your help. Just sent that note beside the coin for proof. I guess you feel no one needed to see it? lol it's all good.
I will post more maybe in a couple days. As for the 1933 we will see because talking to a few people in the coin profession have been telling me not to be show boating that coin on the internet whatsoever. I have tonnes more coins that I will post but for the 1933 one I think for obvious reasons it's not a good idea. I have put it in a safe for now until I can get it graded and confirmed if real. If so I need to insure it and have it put somewhere safe. lol if I can even do that because I have been told by a few that it is illegal. So I don't know what my choices are.
So keep checking in over the next few days for other coin pics. Ill keep posting a smany as I can!

Also if anyone has any opinions on the shape/grade of that 1897 one that the mod posted for me (since I suck at posting pics) Id like to hear opinions

Looks like the first one you posted! **By the way, I see you have a lot of Canadian 50c coins! A lot of our Canadian members here don't even have one!

they are the exact same coin obv...just not with scratches on them and the top of the eagle isn't worn down at all like the other one. From what I see anyways.
That other coin was the wrong one and was from that site the coin collector sent me. Hence me getting the mod to do this..so people dont think I was trying to pull their leg. Also I am very interested in these coins now. I never even cared before today. Now I find it simply amazing.
So again any advice or comments are much appreciated!

Quote: ... any opinions on the shape/grade of that 1897 one that the mod posted for me It actually appears to be in even better condition than the first pictures. The crowns on the eagles heads appear more distinct. The 50 cent pieces I have are just silver junkers so I'm no expert there, but I know from Charlton Catalogue there is some good value to some. Get yourself a Canadian coin catalogue of sorts. But, I really wanted to see the 1933. There are of course counterfeits. The previous Wiki link in this thread gets into that issue somewhat... maybe you might eventually post pictures?

sdexcid - try getting a very accurate measurement of the diameter of your 1933. There are many copies done on silver round blanks and then gold plated, but they are a different diameter from the real coins. A very accurate weight will also help you. If your coin is wrong diameter or weight, you know you've got a copy and no need to waste money on a safe deposit box or certifying the coin.
