I just got some of these notes for an upcoming trip to London. Can't imagine how anyone could readily counterfeit these.

Nice looking notes, but they made Charles look young.

They're really tough to copy. Counterfeiting in Canada dropped to a tiny fraction of a percentage point after we went to polymer.

The trouble with banknotes actually is more ludicrous- just try spending them. Here, in Canada, they've taken one's option to use cash away by installing card-only self-check outs (even at charity shops). It was brutal before Covid & it just got doubly worst.

Apparently, it's the same story in London (tough to spend your cash). At least, that's what most British collectors say.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Sadly, cash acceptance is in its final days. Okay, final years. Enjoy the hunting while you can!

I got sorta-lucky (which is better than striking out- which is what I usually do). Thought I would change my tactics at the bank & it paid off (a little). Asked if they had any KCIII notes & I would buy £100 if they did.

They coughed up a circulated £10, some UNC 5's (again- not what I need), no £20 but this £50 (which at nearly $2.00 CAD/£1.00 is a bit of a steep buy for me), but I like the 2 digit number (not fancy but interesting) so I think I'll keep it.

Well, I just got my last one in the series - the 50 pound note.

Congrats.

Is your £50 unc (or almost unc)? I am wondering what's that at the bottom left of the obverse.

It is a uncirculated one - that 'thing' on the corner is a small piece of hair (probably from my dogs).
I usually take these images of my notes on plain white paper but forgot this time. I'll be re taking it so it is in line with my other images of my note collection.

But thanks for noticing that - (I didn't see it)
