Safe to say the ASE Proof Coins available on Aug 7 will have the same price hike ? I'm cancelling my subscriptions to the Peace and Morgan proofs. Will still get the two coin RP Set.

This is disappointing. I am going to keep my 2x of each for now. Gave up silver proof sets and ASEs decades ago due to the pricing and now they are just insane. Mint just does not care. Bulk buyers will get them and have them slabbed at a discount rate. Or it's going to be rare issue since everyone is cancelling.

every time I see news of a mint price hike I am even happier that I bailed out from purchasing anything more from them. they lost me 5 years ago. not going back.

I imagine the mangers at the mint are anxiously watching how many subscription cancellations they get. I did my part to add to whatever that number is.

I canceled every subscription I had with them. I did my part to impact their cancellation numbers. Those numbers add up.

Does anyone not understand these increases in light of sharply higher gold and silver prices?

I just cancelled my peace and morgan subscriptions. I was already hesitating and this just did it finally. I wonder if they will lower prices if silver comes down.

I'll see what the 'after market' has to offer on these.

Once upon a time the mint had a matrix for gold prices that went up AND down with the spot price of gold. I'm not sure if that still exists; the last few years it seems like the prices go up and never come back down if the PM values retreat. Silver products sort of behaved that way for a bit (if you'll recall the ATB 5oz silver pucks that fluctuated with silver spot). I'm not in front of my spreadsheets right now but I think I'll put together something that charts the retail price of ASEs over time vs the spot price of silver. Or maybe I could get AI to do that for me. I get that everything is more expensive these days and they have to pay salaries and keep the lights on and such but they HAVE to realize that people are not going to accept a 20% hike. That seems a very arbitrary (and large) jump. I envision a Dilbert cartoon where the pointy-haired boss is throwing a dart at "percentage increase" dart board. I wonder if they are expecting a reciprocal 20% decrease in subscriptions/sales. Perhaps they're thinking "hey we can still make money if we raise prices 20% and only lose 10% sales". My only silver subscriptions now are the ASEs and the silver proof set. Quote:Safe to say the ASE Proof Coins available on Aug 7 will have the same price hike ? That's how I read it.

Quote: Does anyone not understand these increases in light of sharply higher gold and silver prices? Between 2011 and 2013 silver was at an all-time high of $30-$46. ASE prices for that period: Around $60.
