Be interesting to see how fast they drop their prices when (not if) metal prices take a dump.
I won't be holding my breath, though!

I got that same new email with their new prices. I hate the idea of buying all my items away from the mint, but if the prices are cheaper in the after market for all these, I may have to shift my buying practices..

You risk cherry picking by buying after market unless you purchase in person at a coin shop or a show. Personally I'm ok with that if it saves bucks. At this point I'm not worried about graded moderns.

I got the email this afternoon showing the $15 or more price increases. I bought the Unc Morgans in 2021 and the proof one last year. I decided back then that I didn't want to make it a yearly purchase. I've never looked, but would be interesting to see the US Mint's profits over time.

Time to thin the herd a little bit.

I had a sub for the '24 Peace Uncirculated and dumped that. Only because I do like the Peace dollar design. But not THAT much! It's the only sub I had on the Morgan/Peace sets. I like them, but otoh they really could have stopped after the centennial. Rather pointless now. I was thinking on getting the silver flowing hair medal, it seems like they are holding the price on those if I'm reading the info correctly. But now I'm not sure about that one either, with the increase on the ASE. I'll keep the ASE subs on, even the Limited Edition set. Just really really want to keep the set up to date and want good OGP. But it's really hard to keep the enthusiasm up at the mint prices.

Gotta think being in the US Mint business is difficult... people are switching to digital forms of currency, and raw materials / greed are pricing a lot of people out of the collector market. At some point there will be no customers left for the mint to sell to.

One of the selling points to me for these products were the relatively low prices, for what they were providing. Silver proof sets were $50 and below not too long ago, and the ASE and commemoratives didn't break the bank. I may continue to fill in my modern collection via the secondary market, but will probably will use the funds to continue filling out my classic coin collection. I don't collect coins as an investment, but I don't want to be kicked in the teeth my the mint either!

Heads up! If you're subcribed to the Morgan and Peace dollars and wish to modify the quantity, you need to do it at least 5 days before the shipping date which is today/tomorrow. I just reduced mine to one of each instead of 3 of each.

Does anyone know if they must stop selling these on Dec 31st? Or is this something that three years from now they will find a "hoard" in the back of the mint safe that will be sold like they did earlier this year.

Ag spot is up 3% today - the way things are trending I'd say there's chance for another price increase in January.

The problem is that the Mint's price increases are $15 or more when the price of silver is up only $5-$7. So it's a lame excuse for them to blame the higher price on the rise of silver. That alone doesn't justify such a dramatic price adjustment. It seems like they were looking for a convenient way to deflect the blame.

I *think* it's just the commemorative issues that can't be sold after Dec. 31st of the year in which they were issued.
