Yesterday's 1507 coin posted by spence is the earliest dated coin of the Kingdom of Poland. But this one, a 1506 groschen struck by Sigismund I as Duke of Glogow one year earlier is sought after by Poland collectors because it has all the "trappings" of a Polish coin (eagle, Lithuanian knight, etc.) and is dated a year earlier.

1505 schilling of the Duchy of Pomerania. As close as I can get to Poland with dated coins before 1506 (parts of the former Duchy are in modern Poland since just after World War II, including the major city Szczecin). Lots of dated coins from 1489 forward, and you get mythical animals!

Okay, I want to participate at least once here, so I'll start off tomorrow's date. (Hey, it's tomorrow in Europe!) 1504 Brandenburg groshen, Frankfurt mint. Struck in the names of Joachim and Albrecht under mint master Dietrich von Ostrum. Barhreldt 117b. (Apparently I never got around to referencing Kluge...) This was my first attempt at numismatic photography a while back using a 20-year-old digital camera mounted on a tripod & utilizing a timer to avoid vibrations from manually clicking the button. Not great, but not horrible. (One day I'll finally get a real camera setup!)

If that was your first try, I'd say it was pretty darn good! Not sure how the lighting was done, but I use natural light, i.e. a window when the sun is on the other side of the house for the most part. It means I get some shadow at one edge of the coin, but I'm not aimimg for "professional," just decent. Coins this age are rarely flat, so I think we all have issues with that ... imporssible to have 100% of the coin in focus for some coins.
Anyhow, I didn;t go back and look at what got posted for 1514, but I think that's our first example with the archaic 4. I can't quite figure out if that's ANIO 1504, or maybe AN' D 1504 (for ANNO DOMINI)
Nice coin!

Brabant double patard (2 stivers) of 1504, Antwerp mint. Date position on reverse is same as on samoth's coin, but looks like a bit of the coin might have been shaved away there, so tops of digits are missing.
