I've got this Groschen from Brandenburg (Berlin Mint) for today. The typeform for the number five looks a bit wonky to me--maybe it was stamped into the die upside down?

Quote: Here is a 1502-dated Witten from the German City of Lünnenburg: I think that's the first time I've seen an engraver use the annulet punctuation mark for a zero (but hey, why make an extra punch if it's not necessary). The 5 that-could-be-mistaken-for-a 7 is also cool. Same denomination, different place: 1501 witten of the Duchy of Pomerania:

Quote: the annulet punctuation mark for a zero Good catch @tdz. You are right that it isn't common, but I noted it as type "b" a few years back when I was cataloging these number typeforms:

Not sure if you shared that out here before, but seeing those all together is super. Is there a specific date range associated? (1450-1550 for example) It had never occurred to me that a 5 and 7 from the same punch might occur on the same coin, with only the angle of the digit changing (I don't think I've got an example... would have to be 1517, 1507, 1475, 1457). WELCOME TO THE 15th CENTURY 1500 batzen of the Archbishopric of Salzburg (maybe with a new form of 5 to add?):
