Excellent coin! And some incredible portraiture, for the 15th century.
I checked the dates and confirmed that there hadn't been any gaps yet. AFAIK the first gaps are expected in the 1460s, though some might accidentally get skipped before we get there.

Quote: Excellent coin! And some incredible portraiture, for the 15th century. Spectacular! And I agree, if we compare to, say the contemporary portraiture on Hungarian denars, it's in another league. For 1490 I have this Brabant groat. Witte 580, Lev. II-126. There is some corrosion and/or a ding at the last digit, but the inly year the type was known to have been struck in the 1490s was 1490.

Wow, I count 11 Pomeranian schillings between 1495 and 1489 (and I think 1489 was the earliest year they were struck). Maybe that will be the most common type we see here for pre-1500? Given how many have survived, it seems like they must have struck A LOT of them for a place that probably wan't all that populous. We will see if the double briquets surpass them ... I have another Brabant groat for 1489, not quite as homely as the last one.:

Yes I agree @tdz--they are amazingly common compared with many other issues from this time period.

My Florencian Grosso is datable to 1487, but is not dated so I think that I'm sitting on my hands for today. I'll be back to posting tomorrow!
