Excellent tankas and an excellent groschen! And another decade passed - we're entering the 1400s decade today.

No change in the gap listing since the last time I posted one. IIRC the old thread had some 1400s years covered by narrowly-attributed Polish coins, so maybe there's a few more gaps incoming.

Yes sorry that I can't be more helpful, but my next contribution to this thread won't be until 1405 AD.

LOL... I don't think apologies are necessary @Spence. Your contribution ( and all other participants) to this thread, borders on legendary!

And I am waiting for 1406, where I get a run of 21 Bahmani and Mongol coins. However, two of them may not pass the 'pub test' of being an identifiable date, but that's half the fun!

Unfortunately I don't recall how we got through this section on the original. That 1400s decade really is pretty hard to find dated coins for...

Current gap listing: 1464, 1463, 1462, 1457, 1454, 1446, 1428, 1426, 1414, 1409, 1408. We're on 1407 today but I'm not sure if anyone has that one either.

From my scant records, this was the state of play from recent HFBCWG editions for the 1400's period. JohnConduitt has a 1409 Borjigin Dang. I'm not sure if @tdziemia's Florence grosso is dated.

Florence coinage of this period is an awkward edge case: they regularly (twice per year, IIRC) changed mintmaster marks, which is kind of like a date but not really. I think we mostly didn't count it as a date, though it's probably one of the closest non-dates to actually counting as a date.

Spence's Aachen groschens are dated (we are rapidly approaching the oldest obtainable AD dates).
JohnConduitt's Golden Horde dang is dated, with the date partially off flan (it was identified by comparison with a detailed Russian catalog). We hadn't had any activity from JohnConduitt in a while, though - I'm not sure they know about this thread.

I had a good day at auctions today and picked up a 1426 AH 829 Timurid tankah, and also a 1428 AH 831 Gujarat half falus. I'll do a catch up once they arrive down under.
